This month our intention is to get of our heads, and into our bodies. As the colder months approach our tendency is to move a little less and this can have an impact on our physical and mental well being. Let's keep our bodies moving this autumn!!
As many of you know I (Sarah) have been working hard for the last ten years to overcome Major Depressive Disorder and prevent it returning. I can't claim to be an expert in the field of depression, I can only speak from my own experience. I have had so much support over the last ten years. Support from family, friends, doctors, medication, counsellors, healers, yoga teachers and personal trainers. There is so much I could share on the subject of depression and what I've learn on this journey. This month I'd like to focus on mindful movement.
Movement has been one of the most powerful tools I use to get out of my head and into my body. Every time I move my body I bring my mind into the present moment. I usually find after mindful movement that my mind is clearer and my mood has lifted. Yoga, along with other forms of movement has helped feel more confidence and connect with my creativity and self expression.
As we enter Autumn, Jane and I will be keeping our bodies moving. We'll sharing our insights through our social media and we'd love you to join us and share your story!
Move in anyway that makes your body feel good! Do Yoga, walk, run, dance, swim! Move in anyway you enjoy and that brings your mind back into your body.
As always we love to hear your insights and ideas! We will be commencing our Autumn Yoga Challenge bright and early tomorrow morning. Drop ins are always welcome if you fancy moving with us!
See you soon! Love Sarah & Jane Xx
