π« Exposing myself to unnecessary Christmas related triggers that cause flashbacks of the abuse I suffered throughout my childhood
π« Powering through - when I actually need to power down, rest and recoup
π« Bypassing my heavy feelings
Things Iβm doing instead β¬οΈ
β¨ Creating more safely for myself; knowing that I have the power to say no to exposing myself to these unnecessary Christmas triggers
β¨ Taking more time to sleep and rest, and to engage in simple activities that soothe my nervous system
β¨ Allowing myself time and space to feel - plus asking for those I trust deeply to be with me in my darker moments
