Ah, here we are again! The time of year is upon us where we are bombarded with the C word and all the societal pressure that follows.
Interestingly, most people that I speak to find this time of year pretty tough. Whilst there may be other factors, I believe a major contributing factor is that we are going against the flow of nature.
As we move through autumn and slowly into winter, nature is slowing down and coming into a restful state. Yet we are bombarded with messaging from so many directions telling us to do more, more, more!
We are told we should buy more, spend more, do more, eat more and drink more. Every year I witness this happening, and every year I witness the exhaustion, stress, overwhelm, financial strain, physical and mental illness this causes so many individuals.
✨ What if instead of exhaustion, stress and illness, we choose to rest and replenish ourselves?
✨ What if we follow the flow of nature - if we slow down, turn inwards and reflect?
✨ What if we opt out of over consumption and opt in to deep meaningful connection with ourselves and with those around us?
✨ What if the rest of this year is the best of the year?
For me, the beauty of yoga has been a deeper connection to myself. It has been an unravelling of the conditioning that I have been exposed to. It has been a path of choosing a life that feels true to me. My hope is that you can take time to reflect and consider what you need from the rest of this year. If it is supportive for you, I hope that you can opt out of the chaos and create space for calm inner connection.
